Call for Nominations
Nominations are open for three prestigious awards to be presented by the Medical Society of the County of Erie at our Annual Physician Celebration and Gala on Tuesday, November 10 at the Twentieth Century Club in Buffalo, NY.
Deadline for Submission: Monday, October 12, 2026

Please note:
- All MSCE members are invited to nominate a professional colleague
- Only MSCE members can submit a nomination form; nominees may be MSCE members or non-members
- The awards will be presented at the MSCE Annual Gala on November 10, 2026
- In order to aid in deliberations, the Awards Committee asks that nomination details include specifics about the nominee’s career and/or work that make them uniquely qualified for the award.
Award Details
Descriptions and criteria for each award are below.
1. Lifetime Achievement Award
Description: This award honors a medical professional who has made lasting and significant contributions to the field of medicine throughout their career. It recognizes individuals who have demonstrated excellence in patient care, research, and medical education, significantly impacting the advancement of healthcare and medical science.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Significant scientific contributions to medical knowledge and practice
- At least 20 years of distinguished service as a medical professional
- Demonstrated impact on patient care, medical education, or healthcare policy
- Membership in MSCE preferred, but not required
2. Outstanding Service Award
Description: This award recognizes exceptional dedication and service within the medical field. It honors individuals who have gone above and beyond in their commitment to improving healthcare, advancing medical knowledge, and supporting their patients and colleagues in Erie County, throughout Western New York and/or nationwide.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Demonstrated outstanding contributions to patient care, medical research, or healthcare innovation
- Significant impact on improving healthcare outcomes or medical practices
- Notable leadership in addressing healthcare challenges or advancing medical ethics
- Commitment to our Medical Society on a local, state, or national level
3. Distinguished Mentor Award
Description: This award acknowledges an MSCE member and medical professional who has shown exceptional commitment to mentoring and guiding the next generation of healthcare providers. It recognizes the importance of nurturing talent and fostering professional growth within the medical field.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Proven track record of mentoring medical professionals
- Positive impact on mentees’ professional and personal development
- Commitment to fostering leadership and excellence in medicine
