Lung Cancer Screening Month

When it comes to confronting lung cancer, we are stronger together.

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month, and for two years running, the Medical Society of the County of Erie has been dedicated to raising awareness about lung cancer screening and connecting at-risk individuals with screening resources in the Greater Buffalo area.

Through our partnership with GO2 for Lung Cancer and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, we’ve made significant strides in reaching our community. Our efforts have included radio advertisements across the Greater Buffalo area, skyboards at the Galleria Mall, and billboards on Route 33 in Buffalo. In 2024, our billboard campaign ran for 8 weeks, generating over 4 million impressions. In 2025, we expanded our collaboration to include the NYS Lung Cancer Screening Action Team and the Erie County Department of Health.

Early detection saves lives. We’re committed to ensuring that everyone in our community who is at risk has access to information and screening.
