NYSDOH definition of essential employee has recently changed. Now essential status is dependent on their position rather than their work site type. For example, if a nurse position could be covered by other nurses filling in for 2 weeks or a nurse could work from home, that nurse is not considered an essential employee. This nurse would be placed in quarantine at home for 2 weeks.
