Suicide Prevention in Primary Care: Who's at Risk & How to Intervene

Join the Medical Society of the County of Erie and Crisis Services for this critical educational program addressing one of healthcare's most pressing challenges. Suicide rates continue to rise nationally, making it essential for primary care providers to recognize warning signs, conduct effective risk assessments, and connect patients with life-saving resources. This evidence-based training will equip you with practical tools and confidence to make a meaningful difference in your patients' lives!

The presentation will feature speakers from Crisis Services including Celia Spacone, PhD, LaTonya Diggs, and Deanna Schaumloeffel. We will also have Ryan Belka from the NYS Attorney General's office who will present on Extreme Risk Protection Orders, also known as Red Flag Laws.

This interactive session combines clinical expertise with legal insights, providing a comprehensive approach to suicide prevention in healthcare settings. Participants will leave with actionable protocols, resource directories, and the confidence to address this sensitive but crucial aspect of patient care. Dinner will be provided, offering additional networking opportunities with colleagues committed to mental health advocacy.
